Jaya Prakashnarayan Nagar (Kannada: ಜಯ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ನಗರ popularly known as J P Nagar (Kannada: ಜೆ ಪಿ ನಗರ) is a residential and commercial locality of South Bangalore, India. It is surrounded by Jayanagar, Banashankari, Bannerghatta Road and BTM Layout.

J P Nagar was created during the period of Ramakrishna Hegde as Chief Minister of Karnataka. In the beginning, this locality was basically a residential area. The area was dotted with bungalows and independent houses. The Information Technology boom in Bangalore in late 1990s and early 2000 converted it into a semi commercial area.

J P Nagar is home to many prominent singers, actors and artists. Well known residents of this locality include Kannada actor and politician Ambareesh, playwright and actor Girish Karnad, former Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, former Indian cricketer Javagal Srinath, actor Sudeep and actress Tara. The well known theatre for arts, Ranga Shankara is housed in J P Nagar.
